Vertical Axis LLC (“Vertical Axis,” “we,” “us”) operates vertical-axis.com. This page explains what we collect through the website, who sees it, and how to reach us if you want it changed or removed.

We try to keep this in plain English. If something isn’t clear, email info@vertical-axis.com and we’ll walk you through it.

By using this site, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of information described below, including the third-party cookies and tracking tools we use for analytics and advertising. If you don’t want that, the “Your choices about tracking” section tells you how to opt out at the browser level.

What we collect

We only collect information you give us directly, through one of three forms on the website:

Request a Quote form at /request-a-quote/ — your name, company, email, phone, industry, service of interest, site location, and the scoping message you write.
Contact form at /contact/ — your name, company, email, phone, the topic you select, and the message you write.
Careers form at /careers/ — your name, phone, email, state, position you’re applying for, years of industry experience, CDL status, travel preference, certifications, and any resume link or message you include.

We also collect whatever you tell us by phone at (763) 280-6050 or by email to info@vertical-axis.com. That information lives in our business email and voicemail systems the same way any other customer or candidate communication would.

Beyond form submissions, our hosting provider logs standard web traffic data (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) as part of normal server operations.

We also use a small number of analytics and advertising tools to understand how the site is performing and to reach potential customers with relevant information. Those tools are listed below under “Analytics and advertising platforms.”

What we don’t do

Sell, rent, or trade your contact information to anyone.
Share careers applications outside the Vertical Axis leadership team.
Store payment information on the website. We don’t take payments online.
Require you to create an account. The site is fully browsable without logging in.
Tie analytics or ad-pixel data back to your identity unless you’ve submitted a form or contacted us directly.

Third-party services we use

The website depends on a small number of outside services to function. Each has its own privacy practices:

Formspree (formspree.io) receives form submissions and delivers them to our inboxes. Separate Formspree endpoints are used for the contact, quote, and careers forms so messages land with the right team member.
CartoDB / CARTO (carto.com/privacy) serves the dark-themed map tiles shown on our Coverage section. When the map loads, your browser requests tile images from CartoDB’s servers, which receive your IP address as part of that request.
Google Fonts serves the Montserrat typeface. When the font loads, Google’s font service receives your IP address.
Leaflet is an open-source map library that runs entirely in your browser. It doesn’t send any data back to its maintainers.
Our web host serves the site and keeps standard server logs.

If we add anything that changes the above, we’ll update this page.

Analytics and advertising platforms

In addition to the service providers above, the Vertical Axis website uses the following third-party tools to measure performance and support marketing:

Google Analytics (policies.google.com/privacy) — measures site traffic and aggregate visitor behavior (pages visited, time on page, referral source, general location derived from IP). Google may use this data in line with its own privacy terms. We use it to understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from.
Meta (Facebook) Pixel (facebook.com/privacy/policy) — helps us show relevant ads to people who have visited the site, and measure how those ads perform. The pixel loads when you visit the site and may send Meta information about your visit (page URL, timestamp, a browser identifier) so it can match your visit to a Meta account if you have one.
Hotjar (hotjar.com/legal/policies/privacy) — records anonymized session information (scrolling, clicks, mouse movement, rage-click patterns) and aggregates heatmaps so we can see how people interact with pages and fix usability problems. Form field values you type are suppressed from recordings by default, and Hotjar applies IP-truncation and other safeguards to limit identifying data.

We don’t tie analytics data back to your identity unless you submit a form or contact us directly. We don’t sell the data any of these platforms collect, and we don’t combine it with other datasets to create a personal profile of you.

You can opt out of most of this at the browser level. See “Your choices about tracking” below.

Your choices about tracking

You have several ways to limit analytics and ad tracking on any site, including ours:

Browser Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control. Most modern browsers support privacy signals that we’ll honor where technically feasible.
Cookie controls. Every major browser lets you block or clear third-party cookies. That will stop most of the ad and session-analytics tracking above.
Ad personalization opt-outs.

- Meta: facebook.com/adpreferences
- Industry-wide: aboutads.info/choices and optout.networkadvertising.org
Browser extensions. Privacy-focused extensions (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Ghostery) will block most trackers.

Opting out will not disable the Vertical Axis website. You’ll still be able to use every form and see every page.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site sets cookies and browser storage items for three reasons:

A small number of strictly functional items needed for pages to work (for example, remembering whether you’ve closed a banner).
Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics and Hotjar so we can understand how the site is being used.
Advertising cookies set by the Meta Pixel so Meta can match your visit to an ad account for attribution and retargeting.

Continuing to use the site after reading this policy means you accept these cookies. If you’d rather not have them, the “Your choices about tracking” section explains how to block or clear them at the browser level.

How we use what you submit

We use the information you submit to do exactly what you asked us to do:

Respond to your quote request or scoping question.
Follow up on a contact inquiry, media request, vendor pitch, or partnership introduction.
Review your job application and contact you about openings.

We do not use form submissions to send marketing emails. If you ask us to keep you posted on something specific, we’ll do that and nothing more.

How long we keep it

Quote requests and contact inquiries are kept in our business email for as long as we reasonably need them to answer your request, build your project, and support the work afterward.
Careers applications are kept until the role is filled, or up to 12 months after we receive them, whichever is longer, so we can consider you for future openings.
Business records we’re legally required to keep (invoices, contracts, tax records, insurance filings) are kept for as long as state and federal law require.

You can ask us to delete anything at any time. See “Your rights” below.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can contact us to:

Ask what information we have about you.
Correct anything that’s wrong.
Ask us to delete your data.
Ask us to stop contacting you.
Opt out of any processing you didn’t agree to.

Email info@vertical-axis.com with the subject line “Privacy request” and we’ll handle it within 30 days. If we need to verify your identity before making changes, we’ll tell you exactly what we need.

Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with similar statutes have specific rights under state law. The rights above cover them, and we honor requests without discriminating against you for making them.

Children

The Vertical Axis website is intended for adult business audiences and tower industry job seekers. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Data security

The entire site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions to Formspree are transmitted over HTTPS and protected by their security practices. Information you email or phone to us is stored in our regular business email and voicemail systems.

No internet transmission is 100% secure. We take reasonable steps to protect what you share, but we can’t guarantee absolute security. If you prefer a less public channel (say, for sensitive project details), call us and we can set that up by phone.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it in any meaningful way, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where the change is material, note what changed.
